Dr. Tristen Smith earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The University of Michigan School of Dentistry, ranked the #1 Dental School in the Country.

She is a caring and gentle dentist who strongly emphasizes patient education. Her goal is to change your perception and give you a phenomenal dental experience.

Dr. Smith is active in the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association and the Second District Dental Society. She stays up to date by attending numerous Dental seminars, researches the most current materials and Technology, and reads numerous Dental profession journals.

She is a former college basketball player and has traded in her basketball shoes for hiking in the Smokies.

Dr. Kimberly Thomas

Originally from Longview, Texas, Dr. Thomas received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. She stood out amongst her classmates, receiving the Golden Hands Award and the AGD Senior Student Dental Award for having exhibited the greatest interest, knowledge and proficiency in the field of dentistry.

Dr. Thomas has a strong interest in art, and has taken many courses in figure drawing, digital design and ceramics. Dentistry allows her to use her artistic ability combined with her love for helping others. Through her extensive training, she has obtained clinical skills in implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and general dentistry.

In her free time, Dr. Thomas enjoys photography, working on various art projects, and spending time with family and friends. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Nathan, and together they enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time outdoors.

The Blue Dog Story (Dr. Smith)

When I was three years old, my mom asked my brothers and me what we wanted to be when we grew up.

“A dog!”, I said.

“Hmmm, what kind of dog?”, she asked.

“A Blue Dog!!” I replied.

Years later, it was this simple idea from which Blue Dog Family Dentistry was born.

Boy, were my family and friends surprised that I’m a Blue Dog after all.

No, this Blue Dog is not furry, but friendly, passionate, and focused on bettering our community.
